RBI buys ₹50,000 crore worth of bonds

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has bought ₹50,000 crore worth of bonds in an open-market operation purchase auction to boost liquidity in the banking system. The central bank is set to purchase more bonds worth ₹50,000 crore next week. The auction, which had bonds with maturities ranging from 2029 to 2050, reportedly had higher-than-expected cutoff prices.
