RBI projected CPI inflation at 5.1% for FY27, 50 basis points higher than its earlier forecast, Governor Sanjay Malhotra said. He noted that the partial pass-through of elevated global oil prices has increased the cost of inputs. As firms pass on these higher input costs, CPI inflation could face upward pressure in the coming months, he added.
