RBI unlikely to cut interest rate this year: SBI Chairman CS Setty

SBI Chairman CS Setty said the RBI is unlikely to cut the interest rate this year because of the uncertainty over food inflation. "We may have to wait for Q4 (January-March 2025)," he added. "While [US] Fed rate cut would influence everyone, RBI would be mindful of the food inflation before taking a call on interest rate cut," he stated.
