RBI unloaded $8 billion last week to anchor rupee: Reports
RBI last week sold at least $8 billion in foreign exchange market to strengthen the rupee, Reuters reported, citing six bankers. The bankers estimated RBI's market presence between $8 and $15 billion, with sustained interventions helping lift the rupee. These inflows likely gave more room to conduct interventions and drain liquidity, which recently hit record-high, one of the bankers said.
