Reactor blast at Guj chemical plant kills 5, gas leak covers area in dust & haze

At least five workers were killed and six injured after a 15-kilolitre reactor exploded during a hydrogenation process at a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in Gujarat's Bharuch. A Methylene dichloride (MDC) gas leak reportedly left the area covered in dust and haze with workers and others at the site complaining of severe eye irritation. The injured were taken to hospitals.
