Ready for direct peace talks with Ukraine: Russian President Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday proposed direct peace talks with Ukraine. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his country was ready for any form of discussion to achieve a ceasefire that would stop strikes on civilians. There have been no direct talks between Russia and Ukraine since the early weeks after Russia's February 2022 invasion.
