Real Madrid apologises after Mbappe’s ‘dictator’ remark about China's Mao Zedong

Real Madrid has apologised to Chinese people after club’s footballer Kylian Mbappe called Chinese Communist Party founder Mao Zedong a ‘dictator’. "Our club maintains a deep respect for China, its history, its culture and its citizens," it said. Mbappe had earlier apologised for the remark after facing backlash. Multiple Chinese brands also dropped the 27-year-old footballer over the remark.
