Real Madrid part ways with manager Xabi Alonso after seven months

Real Madrid parted ways with Xabi Alonso by mutual agreement on Monday, after seven months in head coach's role. The decision comes after Real Madrid's 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup. Alonso oversaw 34 games for Real Madrid, winning 24 and recording a 70.6% win rate. He will be replaced by Castilla (B team) coach Alvaro Arbeloa.
