In a major setback for Mamata Banerjee, the rebel TMC faction led by Ritabrata Banerjee took control of TMC's organisational headquarters in Kolkata. This comes a day after the faction met the Election Commission and staked its claim to the party's name and election symbol. The rebel group reportedly locked the gates of Trinamool Bhavan, TMC’s state office since 2022.
