The record for most balls taken by a batter to score first run in a T20I got broken during the Australia-Namibia T20 World Cup 2024 match. Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus took 17 balls to score his first run to break the record. The previous record was held by Kenya's Tanmay Mishra, who took 16 balls against Pakistan in 2007.
