Recurring defects found in 377 planes in 1 yr: Parliamentary panel

Out of 754 commercial aircraft audited between January 2025 and February 2026, 377 aircraft, i.e, 50% aircraft, exhibited recurring defects, a parliamentary standing committee flagged. The DGCA issued 19 safety violation notices to operators in one year, the report said, recommending an independent high-level committee on aviation safety. The report also mentioned a 48.3% vacancy rate in the DGCA.
