Red food warning labels may be confused with non-veg marks: Food companies

India's food companies have urged the Supreme Court to reconsider the proposed red warning labels on packaged foods, saying the colour could confuse consumers. They said many Indians associate red with the mark used to identify non-vegetarian food. The food regulator has proposed red hexagons to flag packaged foods high in salt, sugar or fat.
