Reduced it to bus ticket: Ex-SC judge as govt says passport isn't proof of citizenship

After the government clarified that a passport is a travel document, not a conclusive proof of citizenship, former Supreme Court judge Madan B Lokur said, "A passport has effectively been reduced to a bus ticket." Describing it as a "misreading" of the law, he said, “How many people who are not citizens of India have been given Passports of India?"
