Reducing sitting by 30 minutes a day could cut premature deaths by 7%: Study

Reducing sedentary activity, such as sitting, by 30 minutes a day could prevent up to 7% of early deaths, a study published in the Lancet said. Further, just five extra minutes of brisk walking or other moderate intensity exercise each day could prevent up to 10% of premature deaths and 6% of deaths in the least active groups, it added.
