Rekha Singh joined the army after her husband's supreme sacrifice

Naik Deepak Singh laid down his life for the country in the Galwan Valley clashes and was posthumously awarded the Vir Chakra in 2021. His wife, Rekha, who happened to be a school teacher at the time, quit her job and decided to join the Indian Army. She went on to become an Army officer in her second attempt.
