Remembering Ahilyabai Holkar, the queen who restored Hindu temples
Rani Ahilyabai Holkar, was a pious queen who dedicated herself to restoring and rebuilding Hindu temples across India, particularly the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi and Somnath in Gujarat. These temples were destroyed by the Mughals. Her efforts not only preserved sacred sites for Hindus but also motivated others to work towards restoring the splendour of these temples.
