Remove hoax bomb threats promptly: Govt to social media platforms

IT Ministry urged social media platforms to adhere to IT Rules and take "reasonable efforts" to "promptly" take down hoax bomb threats posted by users. The ministry warned that the companies' safe harbour, which exempts them from liability for third-party content on their platforms, will be withdrawn if they fail to comply. The safe harbour is given under IT Act.
