Remove prompts asking passengers to pay tip before ride is accepted: Govt to apps like Uber, Rapido

Road Transport and Highways Ministry has directed ride-hailing aggregators like Uber and Rapido to remove any tipping prompts or interface features shown before a ride is completed. It stated this improperly influences passengers' decisions, creating an impression that paying extra could improve service. "Tipping shall be entirely voluntary and offered only after journey's completion," it said.
