Renaming of Aurangabad & Osmanabad not illegal: Bombay HC

The Bombay High Court has rejected pleas against renaming of Maharashtra's Aurangabad and Osmanabad as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Dharashiv, respectively. The court stated that renaming the cities were not illegal. A plea against renaming Osmanabad had claimed that the name change was in complete disregard to the provisions of the Constitution and could incite religious and communal hatred.
