Renesas to layoff less than 5% of global workforce

Renesas, the Japanese chipmaker is reportedly planning for job cuts, which may impact less than 5% of its global workforce. The layoffs might affect around 1,000 employees, due to reduced demand for its chips. The company has not specified the exact number of jobs that will be eliminated. Renesas is also working to expand its business in different areas.
