Breaking tradition, Republic Day 2026 parade galleries on Kartavya Path are named after India's major rivers instead of numbers. From Ganga and Ghaghra near the saluting dais to Godavari, Kaveri and Brahmaputra, the move highlights rivers as lifelines shaping India's civilisation, culture and economy. About 2,000 artists will perform at the parade.
