Republican Mike Johnson has been elected as the 56th Speaker of the US House of Representatives. The Louisiana lawmaker, who won with 220 votes, received support from every single Republican. Johnson's election ended three weeks of chaos after Kevin McCarthy was ousted from the Speaker's position. First elected in 2016, Johnson is the least experienced House speaker in decades.
