Rescuer gives his life jacket to farmer stranded amid Kerala floods, sacrifices life

Rescue volunteer Rajesh, 36, was laid to rest with full state honours after he sacrificed his life while rescuing 61-year-old farmer Benny amid rain-triggered flooding in Kerala's Kannur district. Rajesh was swept away after he removed his life jacket and helped Benny put it on. Rajesh left behind "an enduring symbol of sacrifice and humanity", LoP Pinarayi Vijayan said.
