Researcher threatened by Microsoft finds new critical bug in Windows

Security researcher Nightmare Eclipse has published details on a flaw in Microsoft Defender, the security software built into Windows. Named ShieldBreak, the bug allows hackers to gain full system-level access to a user's device. Earlier, Microsoft threatened legal action against security researchers such as Nightmare Eclipse for publicly disclosing software flaws outside its company policy.
