Researchers find a way to cut power demand in data-centres

Mechanical engineers have designed a more effective and energy-efficient technology for cooling computer chips. Using a mathematical algorithm and an advanced 3D printing method, they produced pure copper plates that outperformed conventional cold plates and could cut power demand in data centres. Most cold plates made of an aluminium alloy or stainless steel are not optimal for heat transfer.
