Residents burn tyres, block roads to protest 12-hour daily power outages in Karachi
Residents of Pakistan's commercial capital, Karachi, took to streets to protest 12-hour daily power outages. The protesters burnt tyres and blocked major roads, bringing traffic to a complete standstill and leaving thousands of commuters stranded. "We pay bills on time but still face 12-hour power outages. Today we couldn't even reach home as whole city is jammed," a commuter said.
