Restaurant ordered to pay customer ₹5,000 for not providing free water in Hyderabad
The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission-III in Hyderabad directed a restaurant to compensate a customer with ₹5,000 for failing to provide free drinking water and compulsorily levying service charge. The restaurant was also ordered to cover ₹1,000 litigation cost. The customer was charged ₹50 for the restaurant's own labelled 500ml water bottle and ₹31.50 service charge on ₹630 bill.
