Retail inflation increases to 9-month-high of 5.49% in September

India's retail inflation increased to nine-month-high of 5.49% on an annual basis in September, driven by "weather conditions". The rate increased from the five-year low of 3.65% registered in August and marks the first time since July that it has exceeded RBI's 4% medium-term target. Food inflation jumped 9.24%, housing inflation jumped 2.78% while fuel and light inflation fell 1.39%.
