Retired Pope Benedict XVI's health is stable: Vatican

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, whose health had deteriorated earlier in the week, is now stable and also participated in a private Mass in his room, the Vatican said on Friday. "At present his condition is stationary," said a Vatican spokesperson. Earlier, Pope Francis said his 95-year-old predecessor was "very ill". Francis had gone to visit him in the Vatican Gardens.
