Retired teacher revisits forest he helped create from desert 26 yrs ago

Retired US teacher Ronald Sakolsky revisited China's Mu Us Desert, where he raised $5,000 in 1999 to help a farmer combat desertification by planting trees. Twenty-six years later, the two reunited and walked through a thriving forest that replaced the barren sands. Today, vegetation covers more than 80% of the Mu Us Desert, one of China's four major sandy regions.
