Review easing of international travel curbs: PM to officials amid new COVID variant

PM Narendra Modi on Saturday chaired a comprehensive meeting on COVID-19 preparedness and was briefed about the new Omicron variant. Its implications for India were discussed and PM directed officials to review plans for easing international travel restrictions "in light of the emerging new evidence", PMO said. PM said India needs to be proactive amid concerns over Omicron, it added.
