RG Kar Medical College rape and murder victim's mother Ratna Debnath, who is contesting on a BJP ticket, wins from West Bengal's Panihati seat. She secured over 87,900 votes, thereby defeating Congress candidate Tirthankar Ghosh by over 28,800 votes. "The whole world is looking at Panihati. My daughter will surely make the lotus bloom in all of Bengal," Debnath said.
