Schools must give free sanitary pads, right to menstrual health a fundamental right: SC

Supreme Court has declared the right to menstrual health a fundamental right as part of the right to life under Article 21 of the Constitution. The court directed states and union territories to ensure that every school provides biodegradable sanitary napkins free of cost to adolescent girls. It also asked that all schools must have functional and hygienic gender-segregated toilets.
