Ripple buys crypto custody firm Metaco for $250 million

US crypto firm Ripple has bought crypto custody firm Metaco, which allows financial institutions to store and manage digital assets, for $250 million. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse expects increased demand from institutional investors for crypto custody services. As US regulators step up enforcement actions against crypto firms, Brad said Switzerland-based Metaco added to the appeal of the company.
