Rishabh Pant becomes most expensive player in IPL history, breaks Iyer's record within minutes

Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has become the most expensive buy in IPL history. The 27-year-old has been bought by LSG for ₹27 crore in IPL 2025 mega auction. He broke the record set by Shreyas Iyer, who was bought for ₹26.75 crore by PBKS minutes earlier. Pant played for DC from 2016 to 2024, scoring 3,284 runs in 111 matches.
