RJD chief Lalu cites preparation for 2019 polls in bail plea

Jailed RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has moved the Jharkhand High Court, seeking bail in fodder scam cases on grounds that his party requires his presence for 2019 general elections. He said that as party chief, he was the only person authorised to select candidates. Yadav is currently undergoing treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi.
