RJD fields Rekha Gupta for Bankipur seat amid speculations it'll support Prashant Kishor

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Monday named Rekha Gupta as its candidate for the Bankipur Assembly by-election in Bihar, scheduled for July 30. The announcement ends speculation that the Mahagathbandhan might support Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor. Rekha had also contested the seat in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, but lost to BJP's Nitin Nabin.
