Robert De Niro awarded honorary Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival

Veteran actor-director Robert De Niro received an honorary Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. A Palme d'Or is an award given for lifetime achievement during Cannes. De Niro's frequent collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio presented the award to him. In his acceptance speech, the 81-year-old actor criticised US President Donald Trump by calling him a "Philistine president".
