Rogue Chinese AI agents pose as 'Claude' to bypass anti-bot defences

Researchers found Chinese AI agents trying to extract data from Amap, China's Google Maps-like service. When blocked, the agents tried to evade anti-bot protections using exposed API keys. Researchers established contact with some agents through hidden text prompts, during which the agents sometimes identified themselves as Anthropic's Claude, though researchers believe they were mistaken.
