Ronaldo cries wearing no. 21 shirt in tribute to Jota as Portugal reach World Cup last 16

Cristiano Ronaldo wore the number 21 shirt in tribute to late Portugal teammate Diogo Jota after Portugal defeated Croatia 2-1 in Toronto to enter FIFA World Cup Round of 16. Portugal's Round of 32 win came on first anniversary of Jota's death on July 3, 2025. Jota and his brother André Silva passed away in a car accident in Spain.
