Row erupts as Netaji's name replaced with Syama Prasad Mookerjee's on WB road
A political row erupted in West Bengal's Birbhum district after a BJP MLA renamed a road previously named after Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The road in Ward No. 4 of Rampurhat Municipality has now been named after Jana Sangh founder Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee. TMC criticised the move, accusing BJP of attempting to erase history and politicise revered Bengali figures.
