RR, bought for ₹320 crore in 2008, become costliest IPL franchise with ₹15,300-crore deal

Rajasthan Royals (RR) have become the most expensive franchise in IPL history after being bought by a consortium led by US-based entrepreneur Kal Somani for over ₹15,300 crore. Notably, RR were bought for ₹320 crore in 2008 ahead of the inaugural season. The change in ownership will kick in after IPL 2026.
