RS creates record by holding 17-hour-long discussion on Waqf Bill

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday said Rajya Sabha created a new record by holding over a 17-hour-long debate on the Waqf Bill. "When the Parliament discussed [Essential Services Maintenance Act] in 1981...it took 15 hours and 51 minutes," he said. "We created...new record yesterday. We discussed [Waqf Bill] for 17 hours and 2 minutes in Rajya Sabha," he added.
