Rules govern post-retirement roles of Supreme Court judges

After retirement, Supreme Court judges may serve as arbitrators or mediators, head or join commissions and tribunals, act as Governors or members of government committees. They may also be part of educational institutions. They are prohibited from practicing law in any Indian court. This restriction aims to avoid conflicts of interest and protect the dignity of the judicial office.
