The Indian rupee touched a fresh low of 87.50 against the US dollar during the afternoon trade on Wednesday. The Indian currency breached the 87 mark for the first time on Monday. Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty also ended the day 0.4% and 0.1% lower, respectively, after hitting one-month highs a day earlier.
