Rupee rebounds from near-record low on lower oil prices

The rupee strengthened against the US dollar on Monday, rebounding from near-record lows as easing geopolitical tensions pushed crude oil prices lower. It opened at 96.15 per dollar, up 41 paise from Friday's close of 96.56. Expectations of stronger foreign currency inflows also boosted sentiment and supported the local currency.
