Rupee strengthens as it rises 1.7% days after crossing 95-mark for first time

The Indian rupee strengthened against the US dollar as it jumped 1.7% at open on Thursday, rising as high as 93.25. This comes days after the rupee crossed the 95-mark against the greenback for the first time. The RBI has stepped up measures to curb arbitrage ​flows and speculative bets that have been pressuring the currency.
