Russia and US avoid 'fatal breakdown' in relations

The Foreign Ministry of Russia has said that Russia and US avoided a "fatal breakdown" in relations. It added that Russian and US experts had met a week ago to discuss "mutual irritants". The ministry further said that Russia is ready to normalise US relations if "its interests are respected and internal affairs not interfered with".
