Russia declares Stanford 'undesirable', students can face prison

Russia has added Stanford University to its list of "undesirable" organisations, making it illegal and punishable for Russians to study in the US-based institution. In the last five years, this is the 19th Western university that Russia has declared "undesirable". Individuals affiliated with such entities can face up to four years in prison, while organisers can face up to six.
