Russia holds 1st parliamentary election since Ukraine war began

Russia is holding its first parliamentary elections since the war in Ukraine began in February 2022. The three-day election, which began on Friday, is taking place across the country's 11 time zones, with about 111 million eligible voters. The United Russia Party is expected to retain its majority in the State Duma, as most anti-war candidates remain excluded from polls.
